Pininfarina plans to convert this exclusive model into a
normal usage street legal model.
Pininfarina is all set a few more sets of Pininfarina SergioConcept Car. This concept was first introduced at the Geneva Motor Show aiming
at a few well-off buyers that could spare a hefty amount of $3.9 million in a
snap. As in words of their CEO, Silvio Angori,”We are considering a very
limited run of five to six units.” The basic design of Sergio has been taken from Ferrari 458
Italia that has been incorporated with similar 459 PS V8 power train that
couples with a seven speed dual clutch transmission gear box. The car’s name
has been kept after the chairman and CEO of the Company. Pininfarina cars are
designed by Fabio Filippini, who while
addressing the media added that the company do realize that the car design
takes it to an extremely higher level, and they do plan to bring-in street
versions of the same.
As in words of FiIlippini “We already know how and where to
modify the Sergio concept car to make it into a compliant, street legal model.”
He further added that, a windshield will be needed to be installed in 2013
Pininfarina cars so that the barchetta may be easily pass through helmet laws
in Europe while passing through streets. The brand Pininfarina was established in 1930 by Battista
“Pinin” Farina. The brand has earned a good score for developing several
legendary cars in last 80 years. Some of the
known models in the long appealing list of Pininfarina cars are Ferrari
F12 Berlinetta, Jaguar XJ220, and 1960 Ferrari 250 GTE. Considering the huge
success of all the previous models, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume that
exclusive and street version of Sergio will definitely write a new success story.
