“India has huge potential in the long term. We could see hiking of the 30 million euro investment announced by our board for the previous five years,” But then again, Audi is not expecting a completely smooth ride here in India. With the budget increasing duty on CBU's or completely built up units of foreign luxury car makers. Its margins are likely to be hit in the short term. But Perschke says while the auto sector has been having a bumpy ride and the "feel-good factor" maybe missing in the short term. India's long term potential is comparable to other big markets like China he also added that ‘if it sticks to course, it is confident of eventually getting to the top spot in the luxury car race here in India, maybe as early as next year in 2014’.
