Honda Amaze launches on April 11, 2013 and booking for this outstanding cars has been opened.
Honda Amaze launch on April 11 is now official. Brio based sedan has been caught testing on roads numerous times and initial impressions are that new sedan from Honda might very well become one of the top selling cars in entry level sedan segment.
Honda Amaze Diesel 2013
Honda Amaze Price in India is low and will become the cheapest sedan in Honda’s line up of cars in India and will lock horns with high-selling Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. It may be noted that Honda Motors has been losing out to other auto giants in Indian car market because of lack of diesel engine variants of its vehicles and this is all set to be changed with the arrival of new Amaze. Hi-tech Honda Amaze will be sold in India in both petrol and diesel variants and will become first Honda car in India to have a diesel powerplant.
Honda Amaze is a ‘booted’ version of Brio hatchback and shares a fair bit with smaller body variant. Helping car with having improved comfort levels for passengers is a slightly longer wheelbase and higher equipment levels. Honda Amaze looks identical to Brio till B pillars after which Honda Amaze features different rear doors, C-Pillars and of course, a boot. Designers at Honda have done a pretty good job with seamlessly adding a boot to Brio hatchback. Inside, car shares most of the panels with hatchback sibling and only bits which would help with differentiating car from smaller body variant will be additional cubby holes and different colour shades.
Honda Amaze Diesel 2013
Powering petrol variant of car will be same 1.2 litre iVtec petrol motor that powers Brio hatchback. For Amaze, engine has been modified to generate max power output of 90 PS which makes Honda Amaze as powerful as other petrol cars of its segment. Diesel variant is powered by 1.5 litre iDtec oil burner. This engine is said to have been manufactured alongside much publicized 1.6 litre iDtec motor which powers United Kingdom spec Civic and CRV. 1.5 litre engine produces max power output of 100 PS and a peak torque figure of 200 Nm. This makes Amaze more powerful than not just diesel variant of high-selling Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire but also more powerful than diesel variants of some bigger cars. Diesel engine is said to have ARAI fuel economy figure of 25.8 kmpl!! It definitely looks like Honda has a winner in its hands.
Honda India’s website shows that official Honda Amaze bookings open and it is only a matter of sometime before all showrooms of carmaker begin offering test drives of new Amaze.  Dealerships have already received first batch of Honda Amaze cars and test drives should commence shortly.
Honda Amaze measures less than 4 metres in length and benefits from excise duty relaxation that Govt. of India provides for cars less than 4 metres long. Thus, safely expect Amaze to be priced really well and close to Swift Dzire.
