Honda new car plant aimed at doubling the production capacity of the Japanese car maker. The Japanese car maker is getting ready to take over the Indian car market by increasing it car production capacity. The news comes with greater happiness for all Rajasthanis as Honda new car plant in Rajasthan is definitely going to bring various new opportunities and developments in the state. To add to it, the greater news that has created buzz across the market is that Honda to invest Rs.2, 500 crore in Rajasthan. Through this investment Honda plans to increase its production capacity by 100 percent and take the production figures double to 2.4 lakhs on annual basis.
The Honda car plant in Rajasthan is going to be its second facility in India. Honda already has a car assembly facility running in northern state of India Uttar Pradesh. The site of investment is going to be Tapukara situated in Alwar district of Rajasthan where diesel engine component production will take place along with car assembling. The new will commence operations from 2014 onwards. As in words of Hironori Kanayama, the President and CEO of Honda Cars India, India is one of the most key markets of Honda cars in India on a global basis and the company plans to bring-in several new models across various segments in next few years. During the financial year 2012-13, the Japanese car maker registered a healthy growth rate of 35 percent. The company was successful in trading out approx. 73, 483 vehicles that was much above than the 54, 427 vehicles sold during previous financial year.


The current portfolio of Honda includes a hatchback named Brio, three sedans named City, Accord, and Civic, and a SUV named CR-V. Among all these vehicles, the two vehicles that have been a heart throb of Indian roads are City and Brio. Both the vehicles have helped Honda in deeply establishing its roots in Indian Market. And the diesel engine from Honda the i-DTEC diesel engine has made it an unbeatable rival to other brands.
