Japanese
auto giant, Toyota Motor Corporation announced on 28th January 2013
its production, domestic sales and exports results for December 2012 and for
CY2012. These results included its subsidiaries Daihatsu Motors Co. Ltd. and
Hino Motors Ltd. The global vehicle sales of Toyota for 2012 were 9.748 million
vehicles. This even surpassed the estimated sales figure of 9.7 million
vehicles making Toyota No.1 once again.
From more
than seven decades GM was the top-selling auto giant. Earlier GM lost its top
position to Toyota cars in India 2008. Although, the same magic was not there in 2011 as
Toyota’s production got a jittered by earthquake and tsunami in north eastern
Japan.
