Maruti Suzuki launched “Ertiga Green”, the seven-seater MPV, last Saturday i.e. on 16th June. It is the only car in this segment with factory fitted CNG kit. This is the first vehicle in the CNG segment after Eeco, Alto, Wagon R, Estilo and SX4, from the company. Maruti’s Ertiga MPV is available in two variants Lxi and Vxi priced Rs 6.52 lakhs and 7.30 lakhs respectively which further are provided in three variants- petrol, diesel and CNG. The car is expected to give a mileage of 22.80 Km per Kg of CNG.
Same as standard cars, Ertiga have 1.4 litre petrol mill and produces torque of 93PS and 130Nm. The car have five-speed manual gearbox which transmits power to the front wheels. The CNG unit has intelligent-gas port injection (i-GPI) system and there is an easy switch to change the fuel supply. Vice President (Marketing), Maruti Suzuki, said “We are concerned about the environment. Ertiga Green, with CNG system, is another lead of Maruti Suzuki to offer products that are fuel efficient and have low overall cost. Our customers will be able to enjoy lower running costs and Maruti Suzuki’s vast service network across the country”

Maruti Ertiga Green will be available with CNG infrastructure in Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Gujarat and some places of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The same vehicle is likely to be introduced in Indonesia with CKD (complete knock down) kits imported from India.

Ford EcoSport: The most awaited compact SUV is scheduled for launch on 26th June 2013 in New Delhi. Ford EcoSport will be offered in three trims 1.5L petrol, 1.5L diesel and 1.0L Ecoboost petrol. It will be available in four variants namely Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus. All these variants are expected to fall in the price bracket of INR 7-11 lakhs. An automatic variant will also be available as announced by company officials recently.
Mercedes-Benz B-Class: After the successful launch of petrol model last year September, Mercedes-Benz B-Class luxury hatchback will be available in diesel variant soon for the car enthusiasts. The diesel variant is expected to sport a B200 CDI powered 1.8L turbo diesel engine churning out 108PS. The engine is considered as highly fuel efficient. Price of Mercedes Benz B-Class diesel variant is expected around INR 25 lakh.
Hyundai i10: After reaching a milestone of selling more than 1.2 million Hyundai i10, company is planning to introduce a diesel model of the car to counter cars such as Honda Brio, Chevrolet Beat and Wagon R. Hyundai i10 diesel variant will be coming with a 1.1L 76PS CRDi turbo diesel engine. Apart from this, interiors of the car will be spruced up for more comfort. Diesel cars in India variants are expected to be priced a little higher than petrol one.

Wagon R: The diesel version will sport 3-cylinder diesel engine that will produce 60.8PS and 150Nm torque. Price could be anywhere between INR 5-6 lakhs.




The Chennai plant, on which Ford spent $142 million, will be exporting EcoSport in India and several other European and Asian nations.
